OUR STORY

STREET SOUK is a world class streetwear convention that celebrates and champions the vibrant streetwear culture in Nigeria.

We bring Africa’s upcoming and most influential streetwear brands together to create new opportunities to celebrate culture and commerce, delivered right into the hands of the consumer.

OUR FOUNDER

Rising creative force, Iretidayo ‘Ireti’ Zaccheaus, is the founder of STREET SOUK. At only 23 Ireti is pioneering a movement and building bridges between the African and Global streetwear community. With years working in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, Ireti’s interests culminated in the launch of Street Souk in 2018, with its sophomore edition following in 2019. Ireti divides her time between her hometown of Lagos, and London. An alumni of the University of Manchester where she graduated with a 2.1 in International Business , Finance and Economics.

Ireti also holds an MSc in Marketing Strategy and Innovation from CASS Business School, London. Ireti’s deep immersion in pop culture spans from sports, to music, but her passion remains streetwear and its unique culture in Nigeria and around the world. Ireti currently holds the position as community manager at metallic inc, a global creative agency that manages music talent such as Skepta, own the event Homecoming and work with brands such as Jordan , Meta and Nike.

The success of her vision hasn’t gone unnoticed outside of Nigeria, either. The late Virgil Abloh – one of Street Souk’s greatest champions – once described the event as a key part of Africa’s “youth-driven fashion renaissance”. And among members of the Nigerian diaspora, it’s even cultivated a reputation as a necessary stop when back home for the holidays.
